Trusted Choice for Quality and Precision
by Clinical Research Dental featuring Jordan Galpin, DMD - Burrard Dental Care
Meet Dr. Jordan Galpin, DMD of Burrard Dental Care in Vancouver, BC. Dr. Galpin has been using Komet bursat his practice for more than two years as he values
Komet’s quality and reliability.
Dr. Galpin’s portfolio of Komet features over 90 burs, including diamond, tungsten carbide, ceramic burs as well as stainless steel bur blocks and polishers
"Komet diamond burs are longlasting and have a wide array of shapes and sizes to fit specific clinical needs. Some special burs, like the 5909 occlusal reduction and IPR bur, are also very handy."
- Dr. Jordan Galpin, DMD
Komet's 5909 is a super-coarse, round edge wheel used for mesial occlusal distal (MOD) gross reduction.
Komet's 392EF is an interproximal trimming "mosquito" needle-shaped diamond bur with the Extra Fine (25 μm) diamond grit.
Like many clinicians, Dr. Galpin chooses his burs carefully as he understands the correlation between the quality of burs and the patient experience (which affects his bottom line!).
We asked Dr. Galpin, on a scale from 1 to 5 what was the difference in how his hand/handpiece feels when cutting with Komet burs vs. his previous bur of choice? And his answer was 4!
"Great burs and great bur blocks!
I’ve been very happy using Komet burs in my office!" - Dr. Jordan Galpin, DMD

We also asked Dr. Galpin to highlight the most important aspects he considers when choosing dental burs, and he didn’t hesitate to point them out:
Brand recognition – and Komet has been the worldwide leader in manufacturing dental burs for over 100 years!
Quality of the materials – Komet takes pride in its Germany based hi-tech manufacturing facility and the high quality of the source materials.
Bur longevity – Komet’s burs are well-known for their longevity: the toothing and cuts on the tungsten carbides stay longer, and the galvanic bonding process of manufacturing diamond burs ensures their superior quality. Komet’s diamond burs are durable and withstand sterilization up to 25 times without reducing the cutting efficiency!
Support from the dealer or manufacturer – and this is where CRD steps in with education, demos, and personalized Bur Audits customized for your practice!
