The human body’s strongest material, Hydroxyapatite (HAp), is a mineral that is naturally found in enamel and dentin. When applied to the dentin and/or enamel surface, Teethmate™ Desensitizer creates HAp, sealing dental tubules and cracks in the enamel. Teethmate Desensitizer is highly biocompatible. It is free of gum irritants such as glutaraldehyde or methacrylates. Results are immediate, long-lasting and there is no interference with adhesives. This product can be used by dental professionals (dentists and hygienists) for all of their sensitivity challenges in everyday practice. Other features and benefits include:
- Safe & effective tubule sealing with Hydroxyapatite (HAp)
- Immediate, long-lasting relief
- Biocompatible
- Simple to use
Indications for Use
To prevent a variety of dentinal sensitivity challenges, such as cervical sensitivity (exposed dentin), before/after bleaching, scaling or root planning and underneath restorations.
Proven to be effective
Various studies show that the application of Teethmate Desensitizer is effective. The product occludes the dentinal tubules, reducing the dentinal fluid movement and the consequent hypersensitivity. Teethmate Desensitizer was also found to be clinically effective in reducing pre- and post-cementation sensitivity*.
The open dentinal tubules as seen on the first image are reliably occluded by Teethmate Desensitizer as seen on the second image. SEM pictures source: Kuraray Noritake Dental Inc.

Creating the human body’s strongest mineral
Teethmate Desensitizer actually crystallizes HAp from the ground up, nicely sealing dentinal tubules and enamel cracks. The newly created HAp is invisible and acts as if it were the patient’s own. But how is it possible to build HAp? It’s all about the right calcium and phosphate ion ratio and the right pH combined with Kuraray Noritake’s special technology.
