MPa Universal is a single-component light-cure maximum performance adhesive developed for use with the selective-etch, total-etch and self-etch techniques. Other features and benefits include:

  • Consistent and High Bond Strengths: MPa Universal provides consistent and high bond strengths regardless of placement technique
  • Low Film Thickness: The MPa Universal film thickness (<10 mm) delivers high bond strengths when placing direct or indirect restorations
  • No Refrigeration Required: MPa Universal can be stored at room temperature

Direct Light-cure Restorations

Selective Etch

Applying etching gel onto enamel surfaces for selective etch technique

1a. Apply etching gel (ex: Max Etch) onto the enamel surfaces and leave in place for 15 seconds. Rinse for 20 seconds with water and dry with a water-free, oil-free airstream. The etched surface should have a chalky white appearance.

Total Etch

Applying etching gel onto enamel and dentin surfaces for total etch technique

1b. Apply etching gel (ex: Max Etch) onto the enamel and dentin surfaces beginning with the enamel bevels for 15 seconds. Rinse for 20 seconds with water. Dry with a water-free, oil-free airstream.

Self Etch

No etching step required for self-etch technique

1c. No etching step required. Move to step 2.

Applying MPa Universal with a microbrush onto enamel and dentin surfaces

2. Apply MPa Universal with a microbrush onto the entire enamel and dentin surface in a thin layer. Agitate for at least 20 seconds.

Gently air thinning after MPa Universal application

3. Air thin gently for at least 5-10 seconds.

Indirect Restorations

Selective Etch

Applying etching gel onto enamel surfaces for indirect selective etch technique

1a. Apply etching gel (ex: Max Etch) onto the enamel surfaces and leave in place for at least 15 seconds. Rinse for 20 seconds with water and dry with a water-free, oil-free airstream. The etched surface should have a chalky white appearance.

Total Etch

Applying etching gel onto enamel and dentin surfaces for indirect total etch technique

1b. Apply etching gel (ex: Max Etch) onto the enamel and dentin surfaces beginning with the enamel bevels for at least 15 seconds. Rinse for 20 seconds with water. Dry with a water-free, oil-free airstream.

Self Etch

No etching step required for indirect self-etch technique

1c. No etching step required. Move to step 2.

Combining MPa Universal with MPa Universal Dual-Cure Catalyst in a mixing well

2. Combine one drop of MPa Universal and one drop of MPa Universal Dual-Cure Catalyst in a mixing well and mix for 5-10 seconds under subdued light.

Applying the MPa Universal and MPa Universal Dual-Cure Catalyst mixture with a microbrush

3. Apply the MPa Universal/ MPa Universal Dual-Cure Catalyst mixture with a microbrush, agitate for at least 30 seconds. Repeat procedure 1-2 times.

Gently air thinning after MPa Universal and Dual-Cure Catalyst application

4. Gently air thin for at least 5-10 seconds.

Technique Tolerant

MPa Universal's chemistry provides an effective marginal seal, reduced post-op sensitivity, and a long-lasting bond.

Room Temperature Storage

MPa Universal contains ethanol and water as solvents. Solvents aid in reducing the viscosity of the adhesive, allowing for better penetration of the dentin. Additionally, after placing the adhesive, a slight stream of air can assist with solvent evaporation, reducing film thickness allowing for a more uniform layer, and ensuring a better cure. This solvent combination remains stable inside the bottle allowing for room temperature storage.
